We're about to photograph toy fairies in the yard so that Kathleen (and maybe Grace) can write stories to go along with the pictures. Alexander is rounding up some Lego people to do the same. Fun, fun, fun!!!
I had a great conversation with another homeschooling mom today. She asked if I'd ever read Little Men by Louisa May Alcott. That happens to be the very book which inspired me to become a teacher. I have always wanted to be Jo and run a school for troubled boys (or girls, or both). Since college, I have warned my husband that if we ever win the lottery, we are opening just such a school. We would spend our days educating kids who no one else thought was worth the effort. It was so cool to meet someone who felt the same way. She said she had just discovered that Alcott based the book on her own father's ideas about education!
